Keyword Research Part I
I tried an experiment on a web page that I made. It took me about a week and 1 day to complete, but the jest of it all (besides getting money from my affiliate programs) was to see just how much traffic I could gain by doing extensive keyword research. I used both method of obtaining normal traffic. That is to say I used Pay Per Click and search engine submissions for SEO. I found something that really astounded me.
I used Yahoo Search Marketing (Yahoo! Sponsored Search lists your business on top sites like Yahoo!, AltaVista and CNN. Sign up and get a $25 credit). I set a limit of $50.00 a day. I turned on the program and once it was approved, I started getting clicks. Now, here the part I don’t want you to miss. My click ranged from 18 cents to 2.00 dollars a click. Most clicks were were under 50 cents. When the ad finally went live, it took about 2 1/2 hours for my $50.00 to be eaten up!. The reason was not that I chose the most expensive words to click, remember most of my clicks were under 50 cents. It was because I did a weeks worth of key word and key phrase research and found the key words people (customers) were looking for.
What about the regular SEO submissions. They started coming in first. From practically no where. I used Google Analytics because they offer many features Yahoo Analytics does not (but Yahoo Search Marketing is for placement positions in my opinion). Google Analytics showed me that by submitting my web site, I almost immediately got traffic to my site from the not so common key words.
I do keyword research in two ways. The first I want to tell you about is a little software program I found out about in a forum I was reading. The software get it’s information straight from Google. But that’s ok as Google is the number 1 search engine of choice. If you can research your project on Google, then you can just about count on the exact same key word or key phrases being searched for on Yahoo, MSN, Ask etc…
The software program I am referring to is new to the market. It’s called Micro Niche Finder, and what it can do is totally amazing. You used it to find the little known niche key words or key phrases and then place them into your web site in your meta keywords and use them in the content of your site. This little tool makes quick work of finding the key words you need to get the customers, draw in traffic to your site and convert to sales. It only costs $67.00 one time fee and comes with about 4 bonuses. I have not used the bonuses yet as I was only interested in what key word key phrase research it can to. Go get it. You will thank me for it later!
I want you to progress slowly so you can gain the benefit of know how to do key word and key phrase research so, I am going to end my post here. There will be another part to this tomorrow. Those of you who read this after all the part of this mini course have been posted, take them one at a time. If you read, understand and put to use that which I have written about above, then you will have a better understanding of what you need to do the next time I post. Key word research is not rocket science, it just plain common sense. Use it well!!
Until my next post……..hope your making money!!!
